Becoming a Shout Volunteer!
Earlier this week, I was accepted onto Shout UK’s volunteering program and I’m over the moon about it. For those who haven’t heard of Shout and the service they offer; Shout is the UK’s first 24/7 text service for anyone in crisis anytime, and a place to go for anyone struggling to cope and needing immediate help.
I genuinely believe that everyone needs someone in their life that will always be there to listen and that they can talk to about anything. That’s why I’m volunteering for Shout.
Organisations like Shout are there for when times are tough and you need someone to speak to. Sometimes it can be hard opening up to family or friends; or maybe family members have other commitments and friends have other worries, meaning they aren’t always available to talk.
Shout UK will always be there for any one, any time!
I start training on the 11th December which should take approximately 6 weeks, meaning I will be speaking to texters in February! Eeeeek! I honestly can’t wait to get started and making a positive impact on many people’s lives.
I’ve spoken to a number of people on the team already that love what they do and it certainly is an amazing organisation – I’m extremely lucky to be becoming a part of it!
